Head Coach Andie Bernard, M.Ed Andrea "Andie" Bernard, M.Ed., CSCS, has combined a lifetime of athletics with a passion for helping others in her work with athletes of all skills. For the past decade, she has trained casual exercisers to professional dancers, coached youth athletes, NCAA collegiate champions to professional athletes. She is the featured fitness writer for the Boulder Daily Camera’s Women’s Magazine and is the spokesperson for the New 8 Minute Abs Core Series DVDs. Andie has also been featured in Inside Triathlon Magazine, on Fox 31 News and QVC television sharing her training expertise. Andie boasts certifications through the United States Triathlon Association (USAT) and USA Cycling as a certified coach. She also holds the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) prestigious Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certifications. She founded Tri Babes Training, a women’s triathlon training group and racing team serving Boulder and Denver communities and serves as the director and head coach. Starting as a runner, Andie podiumed and set high school and college records in track and field as a hepthathlete and has won and competed in events ranging from the 100 meters to cross-country races. After college she transitioned to triathlons and has competed and podiumed in dozens of races. She represented Team USA this season in the International Triathlon Union’s (ITU) World Championships in Australia, which attracts the best athletes representing over 50 countries each year. Other highlights include 4th place in her age group at USA Triathlon Nationals, qualifier for Olympic distance nationals, and 6th in her age group in the Wildflower Olympic triathlon. Her coaching philosophy is to coach with patience, enthusiasm, and encouragement. She enjoys working with all levels of athletes and loves sharing her passion for training and competition. |

Jen Lesea-Ames, M.S., CSCS In 1996, Jen came to Boulder, Colorado, to obtain her Master’s degree in Kinesiology from C.U., and has lived here ever since. In the past 15 years, she has been a full time certified personal fitness trainer, a running and triathlon coach and a fitness entrepreneur. Currently, Jen is the CEO and Founder of Fitwise Training, Inc., a part-time personal trainer and triathlon coach, and the National Personal Training Examiner for Examiner.com. She has appeared in numerous local and national media. Jen’s specialty is working with first-time/novice triathletes with an emphasis in transition work. With her down-to-earth, fun personality, Jen has helped dozens of clients and athletes attain their goals. Jen has a B.S. in Exercise Science from U.C. Davis, a M.S. in Kinesiology from C.U.-Boulder, and is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CSCS) and USA Triathlon.Founder and President of Fitwise Training.com Athletic achievements:

Coach Fiona assists with the design of 1/2 Ironman and Ironman training plans for Tri Babes athletes |
Fiona Docherty Fiona Docherty is national of New Zealand and is one of that country's foremost triathlete and runner. Her extraordinary talents have made her one of the most accomplished and recognizable practitioners of her craft, and have earned her widespread critical acclaim and athletic success in her native New Zealand and in international competition. As a member of the New Zealand Long Distance team in 2009 she has brought much prestige to the country of her birth. She resides in Boulder, Colorado and is currently training as a professional runner. |
For the 2009 season, Jax will be helping to develop 1/2 Ironman training plans and promoting the Boulder Tri Babes as she competes as a pro athlete. |
Jax Mariash Jacqueline Mariash, 28, is recognized as the fastest long course female duathlete in the nation after coming home with the fastest time at last year's world championships for Team USA. This year she enters the pro circuit where she hopes to lead USA. Jacqueline is also an elite triathlete with remarkable finishes at the highly recognized Boulder Sprint and Boulder Peak triathlon as well as earning an Ironman 70.3 World Championship slot by placing at Buffalo Springs Half Ironman this year. In addition, Jacqueline won the inaugural Boulder Tri Babes Sprint Triathlon in September with a time of 1:03.31. |
